It is an honor and privilege for me to serve as the President of the Bangladesh Society for Animal Production Education and Research (BSAPER) starting since January 1, 2021. I am humbled and deeply grateful to the search committee members for selecting me and providing me with this opportunity. I am very excited to work with the current executive committee full of energetic and enthusiastic members.

The BSAPER is a nonprofit and membership supported organization founded in 2008. Its object is to support the animal production education and research as well as the professional development of Animal Husbandry graduates throughout Bangladesh by promoting teaching, research, publication, and professional communication opportunities. To accomplish its mission, BSAPER holds conferences and general meetings with regular intervals.

It is an exciting time to be an educator and researcher in the field of animal production in Bangladesh with many opportunities to make a large and positive impact in our country and in the science together. I share the belief that the investment in livestock education and research is an essential component in solving some of our pressing national problems like malnutrition, lack of food security, and unemployment. Our society has and will be one of the catalysts in the preparation of the next generation of leaders in the field of livestock and poultry to meet these challenges.

With my newly-elected executive committee, we are engaged in strategic planning to contemplate our society’s future. We pledge to serve and to sustain the society for its various roles and values toward the goal of strengthening animal production related education and research. Our priorities are to strengthen the BSAPER membership and serve our members and our community as best as we can. To this end, I urge you to become actively involved with BSAPER and spread the word to your colleagues at different educational and research institutions encouraging them to join us. I welcome all new BSAPER members to our Society. I look forward to working with you for a vibrant growth of our society.

Bangladesh Society for Animal Production Education and Research (BSAPER), a professional organization, was formed in 2008 with the aim to exchange, promote and transfer of recent advances in the field of animal production. The society also plays a vital role in the exploration of the problems and constrains prevailing in the sector of animal production and provides appropriate advice to the government and relevant authorities.

The motto of the society is to provide opportunities for safe and secure animal protein production through education and research. Livestock is the main source of animal protein and plays an important role in the national economy, contributing significantly to agriculture and the gross national product. Also, livestock and poultry production has proved to be a successful means for poverty reduction throughout the country. It plays a pivotal role in the rural socio economic system as maximum households directly involved in livestock. The role of Animal Husbandry graduates in this development process over the past few decades is proved.

Secondly the information of stakeholders relevant to livestock production, education and research, problems and constraints prevailing in the livestock sector, etc. will be uploaded.
